April 10th, 2018 So excited to share the news that yesterday was Transplant Day and it was a success!!!! The new kidney is working great and Uncle Dave has already been discharged. Words cannot express our gratitude and love for his selfless act - giving Anna this gift leaves us speechless and he will forever be her hero.  Anna remains on the Intensive Care Unit where she is continues to be monitored very closely. Recovery from such a major surgery has it's obvious challenges. In addition she is starting a completely new medication regime which will require some tweaking before she can leave. We will be returning to the hospital twice a week through the summer as the team continues to monitor for any signs of possible rejection, etc.  We appreciate all of the positive thoughts, wishes, texts, calls, emails - we continue to be so grateful for all the love and support of our family and friends.  XOXO Beth, Doug, Anna, & Sloane
